Backstage/ stagehand volunteers will help during tech week and performance dates. Without these key grip volunteers, the show would not be the same.
They are the lifeblood of the industry, preparing everything needed to make the show a success – props, scenery, lighting and sound are all executed by stage hands. Backstage/ Stagehand volunteers will help with moving, setting up, and testing lighting, sound, props, and other equipment according to set requirements.
Most of our volunteers get involved by ushering for performances. TGTC relies almost exclusively on volunteers to make this possible.
Usher Responsibilities include tearing tickets Distributing show programs Assisting audience members to their seats Quickly walking through the theater after performances to pick up programs. As a thank you, we provide Ushers with ticket vouchers to see future TGTC productions, an invite to the annual Volunteer Appreciation Reception, along with other perks and benefits. Scheduling is a first-come, first served basis.
